Since its inception, Windows Media Player was the media player for Microsoft Windows. This tool has been included as a default feature in Windows Vista. Windows XP or earlier versions of Windows XP needed to be installed separately. It is here that you can find the installer.
You can play any type of multimedia file, including audio files and videos. It supports a wide range of encoders and formats. It can be associated with most file extensions, and used as the default player. This version of XP can be used to burn audio CDs, extract tracks from CDs (in WMA or unprotected formats), and tune into online radio or TV stations.
Windows Media Player can also be used to create playlists and synchronize audio. The only problem is its weight. However, it integrates well with other Microsoft products and is robust.
